Dominik Kosciolek is an aspiring composer, conductor, and music educator studying Jazz at the University of Toronto. He actively performs and teaches saxophone, clarinet, and flute. Cultivating a lifelong love for music and art in students by sharing his own, Dominik wants to help people discover and explore their musical talents, as well as reach their goals.
Before his arrival at UofT’s comprehensive studies music program, his rich musical background included studying at Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts in their prestigious, audition-based music program. As the lead alto saxophonist in numerous selective ensembles, such as the the Wind Symphony and Jazz Band, he received many awards for his playing and musicianship, such as top music student awards and scholarships throughout high school — his high school musicianship culminated in a saxophone graduation concerto.
Outside of school, he has been playing and touring with the jazz-based Toronto All-Star Big Band for three years, and is currently the lead alto saxophonist, specializing in clarinet and flute. He also performs at multiple jazz bars across Toronto, such as the Rex, Capones, the Jazz Bistro, the Emmet Ray, and more.
